Mohali, Sep 29: Punjab FC have strengthened their midfield ahead of the 2026-27 Indian Super League season with the signing of experienced French midfielder Mickaël Ramon Vincent Malsa.

The 30-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until May 31, 2027. Malsa arrives with extensive experience in European football, including more than 60 appearances in La Liga during four years with Levante UD.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Malsa is expected to add experience, physicality and tactical discipline to Punjab FC’s midfield as the club prepares for the new domestic season.

Born in Paris on October 12, 1995, Malsa began his development at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard before making his senior debut in France. His career has since taken him across several European leagues, with the midfielder representing clubs including Sochaux, US Avranches, Royal Antwerp, Fortuna Sittard and Greece’s Platanias.

Malsa has also spent considerable time in Spanish football, playing for Albacete, Real Valladolid, Levante and CD Mirandés. He returned to Mirandés earlier this year.

His career has extended beyond Europe as well, with the midfielder featuring for Moroccan club Wydad AC at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. At international level, he represents Martinique.

Malsa said he was delighted to join Punjab FC and was eager to contribute his experience to the team.

The midfielder added that he hoped to use his experience to strengthen the team and help Punjab FC achieve its targets during the upcoming season.

His arrival gives Punjab FC another experienced option in central midfield as the club looks to compete strongly in the 2026-27 ISL campaign.
