Auxerre have named Will Still as head coach, returning the 33-year-old to Ligue 1 management. Still signs a contract running until June 2028, with an additional year option. Auxerre ended the 2025-26 Ligue 1 campaign in 15th place and seek greater stability.
Still previously drew attention at Reims, where the coach became the youngest manager in the top five European leagues in 2022. Reims began that spell with a 14-match unbeaten run in all competitions. The Ligue 1 sequence reached 17 league games without defeat under Still.
After leaving Reims late in the 2023-24 season, Still moved to Lens for a single campaign. Still then joined Southampton for 2025-26. The stint in England proved difficult, with four wins from 16 matches before a November dismissal, with Southampton 21st in the Championship.
Across Still’s senior coaching career, there have been 131 matches on the touchline so far. The head coach has recorded 50 victories, 47 defeats and 34 draws, giving a win rate of 38.2%. Still now attempts to apply this experience within Auxerre’s Ligue 1 project.
