Recent public financial disclosures reveal that President Donald Trump purchased up to $50,000 in SpaceX stock and later unloaded up to $15,000 worth of the holdings in July, marking his latest transactions involving the Elon Musk-led defense contractor.
Documented in an ethics filing signed on September 8, the president acquired between $15,001 and $50,000 worth of shares in the company on July 10.
He subsequently divested between $1,001 and $15,000 in stock on July 17.
These recent stock dealings deepen the financial ties between the president and the rocket enterprise owned by his former adviser, arriving as the federal administration weighs regulatory decisions capable of influencing the firm’s business prospects.
The satellite, space, and AI business achieved a valuation of $1.77 trillion on June 12 after pricing the largest US initial public offering in history.

Trump had also bought shares in the company that same month, as previously reported by Reuters.
Between July 10 and July 17, the span covering the president’s buy and sell dates, SpaceX stock dropped 15%.
Addressing earlier disclosures, White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Reuters that independent financial management firms oversee the president’s investments, mirroring benchmark trackers “such as the Schwab 1000.”
A spokesperson for Trump did not immediately reply to requests for comment regarding the July transactions.
The Office of Government Ethics published the document online Tuesday. The transactions formed part of more than 1,000 investments executed by the president throughout July.
Because federal reporting guidelines require officials to list asset values within defined ranges, the exact total of Trump’s financial stake remains unspecified.
As a key U.S. military contractor, SpaceX routinely submits applications for federal regulatory approvals.
