Patrik Schick has ended a decade with Czechia by retiring from international football after the 2026 World Cup. The decision follows Czechia’s group-stage elimination, which confirmed the final chapter of Schick’s national-team journey at the age of 32.

Across ten years with the senior side, Schick scored 26 goals in 56 appearances after debuting against Malta in May 2016. Those numbers place the Bayer Leverkusen forward fourth on Czechia’s all-time scoring chart, behind Jan Koller, Milan Baros and Vladimir Smicer.

Miroslav Koubek’s team left the 2026 World Cup after a 3-0 loss to co-hosts Mexico. That defeat meant Czechia finished bottom of Group A with one point from three matches, ending Schick’s final major tournament on a disappointing note for both player and squad.
