Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have received some initial relief in the ongoing investigation into alleged dressing-room leaks, with the examination of their mobile phones reportedly failing to uncover any significant evidence. However, the inquiry by Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) remains ongoing, with investigators continuing to examine digital records and financial transactions linked to the two players.

According to Geo News, the initial examination of the phones did not reveal anything significant, although further forensic analysis is still underway at the NCCIA headquarters in Islamabad.

The investigation was initiated following concerns over alleged leaks of sensitive information from the Pakistan dressing room. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had reportedly handed over the players’ mobile phones to the authorities for examination.

According to sources cited by Geo News, the PCB took custody of Rizwan and Imam’s mobile phones before handing them over to the relevant authorities for examination. Investigators have been reviewing messages, contacts and other digital information retrieved from the devices. Information circulating on social media regarding alleged leaks from the Pakistan dressing room is also understood to be part of the inquiry.

While the initial examination did not uncover anything significant, the forensic analysis is continuing. The investigation is also looking into the players’ financial dealings, with authorities reportedly reviewing their bank accounts and transactions from before and after Pakistan’s England tour. Investigators are expected to trace the source and destination of funds if any suspicious transactions are identified.

Rizwan, Imam questioned over contacts and activities in England

Rizwan and Imam appeared before the NCCIA in Lahore earlier this month, where they were questioned about the alleged leaks. Sources said the investigators also asked the two cricketers about their contacts and meetings during practice sessions and matches in England.

Both players reportedly sought additional time to submit detailed written responses to the questions raised by the authorities. Meanwhile, Rizwan has submitted a written response to the NCCIA, seeking clarification about the reasons for his summons and asking why his mobile phone has not yet been returned.

The NCCIA is expected to submit its findings to PCB officials once the forensic examination is completed. According to Geo News, the PCB will decide on the matter involving the two players in light of the agency’s report
