The Westchester County Board of Elections confirmed that the overly thick paper caused scanners to reject ballots at polling sites across multiple municipalities, including North Salem, as reported by ABC News.
Election officials assured voters that voting remains operational and that every ballot cast will be counted, urging residents not to leave polling locations while technicians work to resolve the scanning issue.

Trump rails against Daily Mail over Lincoln Memorial ‘joke’ and crowd size report
Donald Trump lashed out at the Daily Mail on Tuesday afternoon, accusing the outlet of taking a joke about renaming the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool out of context.
On Truth Social, Trump pushed back on a report describing a recent press conference at the newly renovated site as a poorly attended final midterm campaign speech. Trump clarified that the event was a closed-door news conference for reporters rather than a public rally.
“I said, very clearly, ‘I’m joking,’” Trump wrote, rejecting the headline’s claim that he threatened a “major rename” and condemning media coverage of his crowd sizes as dishonest.
“The Fake News is so corrupt!” he wrote.

Midterm election betting hits record $1.4B as prediction platforms go mainstream
People across the United States are betting on this year’s midterm races at record levels for US election betting.
More than $1.4 billion has been wagered on the midterms, according to the platforms and industry research. Prediction market platforms allow traders to buy and sell “yes” or “no” contracts on a range of race outcomes and variables. The markets rose to prominence in 2024 when they bucked traditional opinion polls in signaling that Donald Trump would win the presidency.
Among those watching the results roll in on Tuesday evening will be Noah Poser, who will be glued to his phone tracking dozens of large wagers he placed on prediction markets when polls close in the US midterm elections on Tuesday night. Poser, 28, works in financial technology and has written about betting strategies in such markets.
