Some Republicans worry about 2028 map
A new report from Politico details how some Republicans are already panicking about 2028 and the electoral map.
Big wins for Democrats in traditionally red states such as Texas and Kansas have some on the GOP side worried about states once considered near-locks for the party in presidential elections.
“[The mditerms] undoubtedly made the mechanics of winning in 2028 harder for Republicans,” former Trump 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien told the outlet.
Trump won 312 electoral votes in 2024 to secure the presidency. If the results stayed exactly the same in 2028, but Republicans lost Texas and Kansas as they did in the midterms, they would secure 272 electoral votes and the presidency. That doesn’t include other states that Trump won in 2024, and saw Democratic gains in the midterms.

Fox News hosts melt down over media coverage of ‘hot’ Democrats
The hosts of Fox & Friends melted down over the media’s coverage of “hot” Democrats elected to Congress this week.
Taking aim at “the left’s obsession over this new class of lawmakers,” the hosts singled out a Vogue article that described Abdul El-Sayed and Jon Ossoff as “easy-on-the-eyes politicos” and “positively handsome.”
Host Lawrence Jones contrasted that coverage with the magazine’s treatment of Melania Trump. “You had an actual supermodel, the first lady, she can’t get on the cover,” he griped. “But these guys manage to get on the cover of Vogue.”

Republican lawmaker says there’s ‘a lot of questions about Hegseth’
Rep. James Comer, the Kentucky Republican who chairs the House Oversight Committee, offered no assurance of support for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday.
Democrats have said they will push to impeach Hegseth, and administration officials are reportedly considering ousting him.
“What do you want to see done with Pete Hegseth?” a NewsNation host asked Comer.
“That’s gonna be a decision that President Trump’s going to have to make,” Comer replied. “But I can tell you with a high level of confidence that there’s a lot of questions about Hegseth. We have no idea what the strategy is moving forward in Iran. No one’s happy about Iran, and I think the Republican voters are more upset about what’s going on in Iran than the Democrat voters.”

Hegseth not even under consideration for Senate role as his possible administration escape hatch closes: report
Prior to the midterms, it was suggested that Pete Hegseth might make a play for Marsha Blackburn’s Tennessee Senate seat, assuming it became vacant when she won her race to become the Volunteer State’s next governor, as a means of escaping angry Democrats on Capitol Hill.
Blackburn did indeed win the governor’s manion, as it happens, but Hegseth is reportedly not in contention to be her replacement after all, leaving him trapped inside the Pentagon – unless Trump fires him.

El-Sayed has already found something he wants to work with Trump on
Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed has already found something he wants to work with President Donald Trump on – cutting aid to Israel.
The Michigan Democrat, who has been an outspoken critic of Israeli leadership during the war in Gaza, which he calls a genocide, backed Trump’s idea to cut $4 billion in aid to Israel by the end of the year, saying that he would “love to work with him on doing that.”
“I don’t think we should be continuing to subsidize a foreign military that has done the worst things with our money,” El-Sayed told the hosts of MS NOW’s Morning Joe Thursday.
“In fact, I don’t know that we should be continuing to sell weapons to a country that is, again, using our weapons to do awful things.”
