Talarico is projected to defeat the state’s Republican attorney general Ken Paxton, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump despite investigations, a fraud indictment, an impeachment and endless scandals that were an albatross on his campaign.

Yet the president has repeatedly urged voters to get behind Paxton, who defeated Republican incumbent John Cornyn during the state’s Republican primary, and even traveled to the state to campaign alongside him on October 7 and again on October 19.

In one of the most significant results of the night so far, Democrat James Talarico is projected to win in Texas.

Talarico is expected to beat Republican Ken Paxton in the Lone Star State, which has not sent a Democrat to Washington since 1988.

To compound the victory, Democrat Gina Hinojosa is expected to defeat GOP incumbent Greg Abbott in the race for Texas governor.

According to CNN, Acton is on course to defeat Republican Vivek Ramaswamy, who faced widespread condemnation for the campaign ad.

The clip featured Acton’s estranged mother, who claimed that her daughter was a “liar” who should not be supported by voters.

Sen. Jon Ossoff hit out at President Donald Trump’s “wickedness” after securing a second term in Georgia by defeating Republican Rep. Mike Collins on Tuesday.

The victory retains a crucial seat for his party and cements the youngest member of the Senate as a prominent national figure as Democrats seek to counter Trump during his remaining years in office.

Addressing supporters Tuesday night, Ossoff reiterated his core message that the Trump administration is corrupt and that ordinary Americans are being left behind.

“Together, we’ve affirmed that our task is not just to contain one president’s wickedness, but to heal the brokenness beneath,” Ossoff said.

Pointing to Democratic gains this election, he added: “The American people have rebuked the depravity, corruption and incompetence of the failed lame duck president Donald J. Trump.”

President Trump – having told voters to act like he was on the ballot – is now claiming if he was, Republicans would have won ‘in a landslide’.

Trump has criss-crossed the country in recent weeks and put himself front and center in many GOP candidates’ races.

However, as Democrat hopes of a blue wave appear to be coming true, the president appears to be shifting position.

“I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he posted on Truth Social
