New Delhi, Oct 26: Mohun Bagan Super Giant will look to continue their winning momentum when they take on Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Monday, October 26. While the Mariners will aim to secure back-to-back victories and strengthen their start to the campaign, Chennaiyin will be desperate to register their first win of the season after collecting just one point from their opening two matches.

Mohun Bagan began their campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat against NorthEast United FC but responded with a 2-1 victory over Sporting Club Delhi. Goals from Lee Harry Erwin and Miguel Figueira helped the Kolkata-based side get back on track, and head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis will expect his players to build on that performance. However, improving their finishing remains a key priority, with the coach urging his side to convert more of the chances they create.

Chennaiyin, meanwhile, have endured a difficult start under Clifford Miranda. The Marina Machans were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Goa despite taking the lead through Irfan Yadwad before suffering a 2-0 defeat against Bengaluru FC. They will need a more consistent display at both ends of the pitch to challenge the defending home advantage of Mohun Bagan.

Miranda has acknowledged the quality of the Mariners, describing them as potential title contenders, but remains focused on his team’s unity and performance. Chennaiyin will also have to manage several injury concerns, with Glan Martins, Vignesh Dakshinamurthy and Maheson Singh ruled out. Madih Talal is still working towards full fitness, although Harmandeep Singh and Nikola Stojanovic are available.

Mohun Bagan also have a few fitness questions to address, with Jamie Maclaren’s availability uncertain and Abdul Sahal recovering from illness. Figueira has been managing a hamstring issue. The hosts, however, can draw confidence from their previous meeting at Salt Lake Stadium, where they defeated Chennaiyin 2-0 in February 2026, courtesy of goals from Maclaren and Dimitrios Petratos.

With Mohun Bagan chasing another victory and Chennaiyin seeking a season-changing result, Monday’s encounter promises to be an important early test for both sides.
