India vs Brazil Tickets: India will face five-time world champions Brazil on October 3 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), in what promises to be one of the biggest football events staged in the city in recent years. With Kolkata having a deep-rooted connection with Brazilian football, anticipation around the fixture has been building steadily.

Kolkata’s football fans have wasted little time in showing their excitement for India’s much-anticipated clash against Brazil, with tickets in the lower price categories selling out within an hour of going online on Wednesday.

India vs Brazil: Lower-priced tickets sell out quickly

Tickets for the Brazil game are available across nine price categories, ranging from Rs 999 to Rs 15,000 for VIP seats. The other slabs are priced at Rs 2,000, Rs 2,500, Rs 3,500, Rs 4,500, Rs 6,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 9,000.

While the exact number of tickets released in the first phase was not disclosed, the Rs 999 and other lower-priced categories were quickly snapped up after online sales opened through District. There will be no physical counter sales, with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) opting for digital tickets, similar to the system used during the FIFA World Cup.

The VYBK can accommodate approximately 67,000 spectators, and around 70 per cent of its capacity is expected to be made available for the fixture.

Brazil, Uruguay and Panama await India

The Brazil match is part of a challenging three-game friendly schedule for India. Before travelling to Kolkata, the Blue Tigers will host Panama on September 26 at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

India will then take on Brazil in Kolkata on October 3 before facing two-time world champions Uruguay on October 6. All three opponents featured at the FIFA World Cup earlier this year, giving India a significant test against some of international football’s strongest sides.
