Paris Saint-Germain will be without Achraf Hakimi for several weeks after a right thigh injury, dealing a major blow before the Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich. Hakimi is ruled out of that match and is also a doubt for the key Ligue 1 title fixture against Lens on May 13.
The absence comes as PSG attempt to retain the Champions League title. Hakimi had completed the full 90 minutes in the first leg at the Parc des Princes, where PSG beat Bayern Munich 5-4, and played a direct role in attack.
In that first leg, Hakimi provided one assist from right-back, contributing to a scoreline that entered European history. It was the first time in any European semi-final that both sides scored at least four goals, and only the second Champions League knockout tie with a 4-4 outcome or higher, after Chelsea’s 4-4 draw with Liverpool in the 2008-09 quarter-final.
Across this season, Hakimi has already featured in 31 matches in all competitions for PSG. From those games, Hakimi has been directly involved in 11 goals, with three goals and eight assists. Among PSG players this season, Hakimi’s eight assists rank fourth, behind Ousmane Dembele with 10, Vitinha with 10 and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with nine.

PSG confirmed the defender’s status in an official medical update. The club statement said: “Having sustained an injury to his right thigh during the match against Bayern Munich, Achraf Hakimi will be out of action for the next few weeks.” PSG added that the time frame rules Hakimi out of the second leg in Munich.
Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is also unavailable for the coming weeks, after picking up a thigh problem during training. PSG stated that Chevalier’s injury will also require a short spell on the sidelines, leaving the club without two regular starters during a vital phase of the season.
The medical point from PSG and Aspetar following the Bayern match was also shared on social media.
Hakimi’s lay-off now shapes PSG’s plans for both domestic and European goals. The team must protect a narrow aggregate advantage against Bayern Munich without a first-choice right-back, while also preparing for a decisive Ligue 1 meeting with Lens that could influence the title race.
