Online platforms have made gambling available virtually everywhere and at any time of day. Last year, online sportsbooks posted a record $17 billion in revenue, and newer prediction markets have taken off as well.

There are growing signs that gambling addiction is rising along with this boom. Yet public awareness and treatment have lagged behind, and the symptoms of gambling addiction are often invisible to friends and family until it’s too late.
