The Kolkata Derby returns to the Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2026-27 on Monday, September 7, with East Bengal FC taking on Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a crucial Group 1 encounter at the Barasat Stadium.

The match comes with both teams already assured of a place in the Super Six, but there is still plenty at stake in the group standings.

East Bengal currently occupy second place with 26 points from 10 matches, remaining unbeaten with eight wins and two draws. Mohun Bagan are third with 19 points from nine matches, having won six, drawn one and lost two. Bhawanipore lead the group with 27 points from 11 games.

The fixture also carries considerable emotional weight after East Bengal’s 4-1 demolition of Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup final on August 23. East Bengal will therefore enter with momentum, while Mohun Bagan will be eager to respond. Their previous CFL meeting in 2025 ended 3-2 in East Bengal’s favour.
