Arsenal are set for a major squad shake-up before the summer transfer window closes, with the Premier League champions sanctioning the departures of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira.

The Gunners are set to offload the trio, who will leave the club ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

Martinelli is poised to leave for Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal after Arsenal agreed a club-record £55.7 million fee for the Brazilian winger. The 25-year-old has been granted permission to undergo his medical and, once completed, his transfer will become the most expensive sale in Arsenal’s history, surpassing the £40 million received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017.

The Brazilian’s departure brings an end to a seven-year spell in North London. Martinelli joined Arsenal from Ituano in 2019 and made 278 appearances, scoring 62 goals, playing an important role during the club’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus is also heading for the exit after Barcelona agreed a deal in principle worth £8.6 million (€10m) for the striker. The 29-year-old is expected to travel to Spain to complete the move, bringing his four-year Arsenal spell closer to an end. Jesus joined from Manchester City in 2022 and scored 32 goals in 123 appearances for the Gunners.

The third departure involves Fabio Vieira, with Arsenal agreeing a deal worth approximately £7.7 million for the Portuguese midfielder to join Hamburg permanently. Vieira spent last season on loan at the German club and is now set to make the move permanent.

Arsenal in search of reinforcements

With the transfer deal set to close in less than 48 hours, the Premier League champions would need a couple of reinforcements as well. The Gunners have had left wing as their priority, with moves for Vinicius Jr, Kenan Yildiz going in vain so far. Julian Alvarez is also a big target, but the Argentine’s move to the Emirates seems difficult.
