Aside from AirPods, the AirTag is without a doubt my most-used tech item from Apple. In fact, I keep one attached to every single accessory I travel with, down to my wallet. So you can imagine my delight when I saw that the 2nd-generation Apple AirTag is on sale for 21 percent off, putting it its lowest price ever, which means it’s lower than it was on October Prime Day. Since deals this low on Apple products, which we cover all the time, rarely ever last long, you should shop the deal now while you still can.

Deal of the day

The second-generation Apple AirTag works very similar to the first generation you’re familiar with: It uses Bluetooth to help you keep track of any personal item it’s attached to, via a keychain, pocket or holder. You can keep track of the item using the Find My app, which displays a map to help you locate a lost item. It will even give you directions to help you find something. I personally love keeping an AirTag in my wallet (using a AirTag card holder), my duffel, backpack and carry-on suitcase when I travel to Europe. I appreciate being able to see that my items made it safely while traveling between airports. Plus, it works for over a year with a battery before having to replace it.

The main difference between first and second-generation AirTags include a 50% louder alarm along with a new sound, making it even easier to find something that might be buried under personal items (like keys or a wallet). It also has improved Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband range, both of which help it track items from even further away than the first generation. The second generation is compatible with iPhones running iOS 14 or later, which includes the iPhone 12 all the way up to the newest iPhone, though some of the improved features, like Precision Finding, work best on iPhone 15 or later, according to Apple.

Why this deal is worth it

This deal is worth it because it’s on a highly reviewed Apple product that we have used (and enjoyed using) several times. Plus, deals on Apple products don’t last long, particularly when they’re this low. In this case, it’s at its lowest price ever.

• At its lowest price ever
• Great for traveling and daily tasks
• Compatible with iPhone 12 and later and with many accessories available on Amazon
• Makes a great and affordable holiday gift
