Sept. 11 (UPI) — The Chicago Bears and running back D’Andre Swift agreed to a three-year, $33.75 million contract extension, his agency, Athletes First, announced Friday.

The pact includes $27.5 million guaranteed and will keep Swift tied to the Bears through the 2029 season. Swift, 27, was entering the final year of the three-year, $24 million pact he signed with the Bears in 2024.

Swift totaled a career-high 1,386 yards from scrimmage, with 1,087 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns over 16 starts last season. He logged 1,345 yards from scrimmage and six scores over 17 starts in 2024, his first season with the Bears.

The 2023 Pro Bowl selection totaled 6,872 yards from scrimmage and 47 scores over the first six years of his career. Swift, a second-round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2020 NFL Draft who also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, appeared in 89 games during that span.

The Bears will open their 2026-27 regular-season campaign against the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Charlotte, N.C.
