Aug. 16 (UPI) — Disney announced this weekend that film legend Harrison Ford is returning as Indiana Jones for a new ride in Florida’s Animal Kingdom.
“I’m pleased to share that for the first time ever, I’m the actual model for the animatronic — fear of snakes included,” Ford said in a video posted on social media Sunday.
“I’m excited for you to see his next epic adventure and I’m coming to Walt Disney World soon.”
The name of the attraction is Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.
It will be located in the park’s former Dinoland U.S.A. section.
No opening date has been announced yet.
Ford, 84, has played the intrepid archaeologist in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and 2023’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Indiana Jones is also represented with a live stunt show at WDW’s Epcot theme park.
Meanwhile, Ford’s other famous franchise, Star Wars, has several rides and shows at WDW’s Hollywood Studios.
