July 31 (UPI) — Rebecca Hall is joining the cast of Netflix’s forthcoming Dan Brown series.
The actress, 44, will star with Morgan Spector (The Gilded Age) in the untitled adaptation set in the world of Brown’s book The Secret of Secrets.
Hall will portray Katherine Solomon, a noetic scientist and love interest of Robert Langdon (Spector) who first appeared in Brown’s book Angels & Demons.
“For the first time ever, Robert Langdon has a serious love interest — and that changes many of the ways he sees the world,” series co-creator, writer and showrunner Carlton Cuse told Netflix’s Tudum. “It’s an exciting evolution of the character.”
The series will follow Langdon as he “races against ancient forces — and the clock –” to rescue Katherine and recover her groundbreaking manuscript.
Brown’s books The DaVinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno were previously adapted as a series of films starring Tom Hanks as Langdon.
Hall’s previous credits include The Prestige, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and The Town.
