Aug. 17 (UPI) — A Kentucky woman awoke to discover a bear had wandered into her house through an open door and feasted on her leftover fried chicken.

Kendra North said she and her partner had the front door of their Harlan County home open Wednesday night for air circulation and forgot to close it before going to sleep.

North awoke to a phone call from her sister, who had spotted a bear from her nearby home.

She discovered the bear had entered her home and eaten her leftover KFC — and destroyed her glass table in the process.

“I’m a little sad over my KFC,” North told WDKY-TV.

North said she spotted another bear on her porch while she was cooking sloppy joes two days later.

She said the sightings have taught her a valuable lesson.

“I keep that front door shut good though at night now, and apparently 7 p.m. is bear time now too,” North told WLKY-TV.
