Aug. 27 (UPI) — Mexican authorities arrested in Puebla one of two men accused of shooting influencer César Daniel Nolazco Gastélum while he was livestreaming, Security and Citizen Protection Secretary Omar García Harfuch said.

Jesús Alberto “N” was located Wednesday night through intelligence work by the National Intelligence Center and captured more than three weeks after the Aug. 4 killing in Culiacán, Sinaloa, he said.

Investigators were attacked by three armed men as they attempted to arrest the suspect. Officers returned fire, killing one assailant and arresting the other two, including Jesús Alberto, García Harfuch said.

Authorities seized three firearms, ammunition and vehicles during the operation in San Andrés Cholula, which was carried out with support from the Federal Attorney General’s Office, the National Guard and the Puebla Attorney General’s Office.

García Harfuch said the investigation was continuing to locate everyone involved.

“There will be no impunity,” he said.

Nolazco Gastélum, 25, known on social media as César Gastélum or “Cesarín,” was killed outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacán’s Tres Ríos district.

The content creator was livestreaming with several other people when two men approached on a motorcycle and shot him.

The livestream captured the moments before the attack and continued as people at the scene called for help. The assailants fled.

Authorities identified Jesús Alberto as one of the two men suspected of shooting the victim. They did not disclose his alleged specific role or identify the second suspect.

The Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office obtained images of the assailants during the initial investigation, and the Federal Attorney General’s Office later took over the case, according to El País.

Mexican media reported that investigators are examining whether the crime was connected to content Gastélum posted on social media, but authorities have not reached an official conclusion.
