May 18 (UPI) — Black-ish actress Tracee Ellis Ross is heading to Broadway.
Producers announced Monday that Ross, 53, will make her Broadway debut in the one-person show Every Brilliant Thing.
Ross will replace Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay in the play by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe. The production features a character looking back at their life and “the glimmers of hope” that carried them through.
“All told through a list of every wonderful, beautiful, and delightful thing — big, small, and everything in between — that makes life worth living,” an official synopsis reads.
Every Brilliant Thing launched on Broadway in February with Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role. Hargitay took over May 26 and will perform through July 5, with Ross to star July 7 through Aug. 9.
Ross played Dr. Rainbow Johnson on Black-ish, which had an eight-season run on ABC from 2014 to 2022, and fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a singer by starring in the 2020 movie The High Note.
The actress is the daughter of Grammy-winning singer Diana Ross.
