Arsenal moved into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town, as Eberechi Eze struck a late decider. The result keeps Mikel Arteta’s side on track in every competition, with the Premier League title race, EFL Cup final and Champions League campaign all still active.
This season, Arsenal have already recorded 35 victories in all competitions, with eight draws and three defeats. That total is the club’s highest under Mikel Arteta, passing the 34 wins achieved in 2023-24. No other club from Europe’s big five leagues in the 2025-26 season has collected more wins.
The tie against Mansfield was not straightforward. Noni Madueke gave Arsenal an early advantage in the first half, but Mansfield levelled through Will Evans after the interval. Eze then restored the lead with a precise finish, securing Arsenal’s place in the last eight of the FA Cup.
Eze told TNT Sports: Happy to score. I had the space and the opportunity to shoot. So I took it. It was a difficult environment to play in. But we did what we had to do, and we are through to next round, which is the important thing. We are working hard, and we are focusing on the process. Otherwise, we won’t get there. We are working hard and doing everything we can to win all the silverware on offer.
35 – Arsenal have won 35 games in all competitions this season (D8 L3), more than any other big five European league side in 2025-26 and their outright most wins in a single season under Mikel Arteta (previously 34 wins in 2023-24). Since the start of January 2025, Eze has scored five FA Cup goals from the first round onwards. No other player has more in that span. Eze also has eight goal involvements in the competition during this period, which is two more than any other player.

Mansfield produced a notable moment in their club history. The League One side became the first team from the third tier or lower to score an FA Cup goal against Arsenal since Leyton Orient in the 2010-11 fifth round. Before this match, Arsenal had kept eight consecutive clean sheets against such lower-league opponents in the competition.
Will Evans, Mansfield’s scorer, has now contributed to five goals in the last nine FA Cup appearances, with four goals and one assist. Evans told TNT Sports:I wanted to prove a point todaynot just to the team but to myself as well. It’s typical, isn’t it?For me to have a league goal drought and then come on for a half against Arsenal and have a goal against them. Games come thick and fast. We are onto the next game. So you don’t really have much time to take it all in. One day, I might just go through my old goals and enjoy them. But we got a shift again on Tuesday night [against Reading].
The result keeps Arsenal leading the Premier League while also preparing for the EFL Cup final and Champions League last 16. Mansfield now switch focus back to league duties, starting with Reading on Tuesday night, after showing they can challenge a side competing on multiple major fronts.
