Manchester United fans have been wondering how the squad is spending their unusually long 24-day break from Premier League action. With the business end of the season rapidly approaching, manager Michael Carrick has taken an intriguing approach to ensure his side stays sharp.
The Red Devils have officially travelled to the Republic of Ireland for an intensive four-day training camp in Dublin, running from Monday, April 6 to Thursday, April 9. The Red Devils will be without two stars.
Diogo Dalot and Matthijs De Ligt as well as back-up goalkeeper Tom Heaton will remain in Manchester due to illness.
There are positives too for the club as they have been boosted by the addition of two injured stars. Both Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu will travel in the 25-man squad as they close in on their returns from the treatment table.
Carrick has also included three academy stars in Yuel Helafu, Jim Thwaites and Victor Musa in the squad. Harry Maguire is also part of the squad, despite being suspended for the visit of Leeds
Currently sitting third in the Premier League table, United is locked in a fierce battle for a coveted UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
This strategic getaway is designed to serve as the ultimate team-building exercise ahead of their final seven league fixtures. A 25-man travelling squad has made the trip across the Irish Sea. The roster features key first-team stars alongside rehabilitating players like Patrick Dorgu, ensuring the entire unit is united for the final push.
With their return to action scheduled against historic rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford on April 13, this Irish bootcamp could be exactly what Manchester United needs to sharpen their tactical edge and secure a top-four finish.
