Abdul El-Sayed has already found something he wants to work with Trump on
Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed has already found something he wants to work with President Donald Trump on — cutting aid to Israel.
The Michigan Democrat — who has been an outspoken critic of Israeli leadership during the war in Gaza, which he calls a genocide — backed Trump’s idea to cut $4 billion in aid to Israel by the end of the year, saying that he would “love to work with him on doing that.”
“I don’t think we should be continuing to subsidize a foreign military that has done the worst things with our money,” El-Sayed told the hosts of MS NOW’s Morning Joe Thursday. “In fact, I don’t know that we should be continuing to sell weapons to a country that is, again, using our weapons to do awful things.”

Senior Trump official calls Hegseth firing rumors ‘delusional thinking’
There are rumors swirling that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may get the axe after the unpopular Iran war hurt Republicans in the midterms.
“Anyone looking to point fingers should start looking for another scapegoat. The Pentagon and the White House made their positions crystal clear tonight. They are coming out swinging in support of Hegseth and that should tell you everything you need to know,” a senior administration official told NewsNation’s Kellie Meyer.
“Suggesting he’s looking for an exit or preparing to step aside is delusional thinking and misreading the situation. He’s not going anywhere. He’s going to remain focused on his mission, he won’t be distracted by the noise, and he’s not going to let the pressure dictate his future.
“The idea that the Left and no name sources can manufacture enough controversy to force him out is wishful thinking. He’s been through way tougher fights and this fight has only begun. Never bet against Pete,” the official added.

DOJ on hunt for Supreme Court abortion ruling leak
The feds have not given up trying to find the identity of the person who leaked a 2022 draft of the Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, headed by Trump appointee Jeanine Pirro, is managing the investigation. Pirro, working with career prosecutors, assigned senior prosecutor Carlton Davis to the matter. Davis previously handled local fraud and violence prosecutions, as well as an unsuccessful effort to indict six Democratic lawmakers who had advised military personnel about refusing unlawful orders.
The Justice Department has accelerated its inquiry in recent weeks, The New York Times reported. Prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas for testimony and requested information from people employed by the high court when the draft opinion was disclosed.

Trump continues to shift blame for election losses: ‘I JUST WASN’T ON THE BALLOT’
President Donald Trump has continued to shift the blame for a crushing electoral defeat off himself.
”I JUST WASN’T ON THE BALLOT. IF I WERE, WE WOULD HAVE WON IN A LANDSLIDE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday night. But the president had campaigned hard for Republicans by telling his supporters to pretend he was on the ballot.
The post is essentially the same as the one he wrote on election night.

Mary Peltola’s campaign releases statement as Alaska Democrat remains neck-and-neck with GOP opponent
Mary Peltola’s campaign has released a statement as the Alaska Democrat remains neck-and-neck with her Republican opponent Dan Sullivan.
“The numbers are clear: when every vote is counted, Mary Peltola will be elected as Alaska’s next United States Senator. Tens of thousands of early votes and absentee ballots are still outstanding, and the data shows that these will break for Mary and extend her lead.
“Despite Sullivan pushing fictitious paths to victory that exclude the voices of thousands of Alaskans, every Alaskan’s vote will be counted, and Mary will win this race,” her campaign said.
Peltola is leading Sullivan by just a couple hundred points, 102,962 to 102,325, according to the Associated Press’ latest estimates.
