It may only be October, but if a Lego advent calendar is on your holiday list, now is the time to buy. These countdown calendars, which reveal a new mini build behind each door from December 1 through Christmas Eve, are a favorite with kids and adult fans alike, and they tend to sell out well before December. Right now, select Lego advent calendars are up to 33 percent off, so you can lock one in early and save at the same time.

Deal of the day

The Lego Disney Princess Advent Calendar gives kids ages 5 and up a surprise behind each of its 24 doors, from princess characters to festive mini builds like a piano, a gingerbread castle and a fireplace. Once every door is open, the box turns into a game board with a buildable spinner, so up to eight players can play.

Star Wars fans can count down to the holidays with the Mandalorian. This year’s Ldgo Star Wars Advent Calendar puts a holiday spin on the series, with Mando and Grogu in festive sweaters plus Moff Gideon, a Jawa and more. Other doors hide mini versions of eight ships, including the Razor Crest and an X-wing. It’s for ages 6 and up.

Kids who dream of snow days will love the Lego Friends Advent Calendar. The winter theme follows Nova, Liann and Aliya through sleigh rides, snowball fights and mugs of hot chocolate. Kids collect six tiny animals, including a penguin, a polar bear and a bunny, plus treats like cookies and toastable marshmallows. It’s recommended for ages 6 and up.
