Barcelona and Arsenal recorded convincing victories in the Champions League on Tuesday, while Manchester United and Inter Milan endured disappointing defeats. Bayern Munich also suffered late heartbreak after surrendering their lead against Norwegian side Viking to settle for a 3-3 draw.
Barcelona came from behind to beat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul, extending their winning streak to 10 matches across all competitions. Arsenal defeated Lille 3-0, while Manchester United’s struggles continued with a 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, increasing the pressure on head coach Michael Carrick.
Inter, meanwhile, suffered a surprise 4-3 home defeat to Club Brugge, with Nicolo Tresoldi scoring a hat-trick.
Barcelona Fight Back to Beat Galatasaray
Barcelona overcame an early setback to secure a commanding 4-1 victory over Galatasaray. Aleksey Batrakov put the Turkish side ahead, but Joao Cancelo equalised shortly before half-time to restore parity.
Barcelona took control after the break, with goals from Fermin Lopez, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi completing the comeback and extending the Spanish club’s impressive run of form.
“We have to play like this, control the game, move the ball. This is our quality. This is our strength, and we have to show our level,” Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said, praising his side’s second-half performance.
Arsenal Cruise Past Lille
Arsenal delivered one of the evening’s most convincing performances, defeating Lille 3-0. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring before substitute Bukayo Saka made an immediate impact.
Saka set up a goal for Eberechi Eze before getting on the scoresheet himself, helping Arsenal close out a comfortable victory.
Manchester United’s Struggles Continue Against Atletico Madrid
Manchester United’s difficult spell continued as Atletico Madrid secured a 2-0 win through goals from Pablo Barrios and Ademola Lookman.
The defeat added to the pressure on Michael Carrick, whose side have struggled for consistency. United defender Lisandro Martinez also criticised the club’s recruitment and called for greater support from the management.
Bayern Munich Held by Viking After Late Collapse
Bayern Munich were left frustrated after surrendering a lead in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Viking in Norway.
After trailing 2-0 at half-time, Bayern fought back through two goals from Harry Kane before Luis Diaz put the German side ahead at 3-2. However, Michael Olise was sent off after receiving two yellow cards, and Herman Haugen struck a 90th-minute equaliser to deny Bayern victory.
“We were dominant, but at the moment it feels like every chance for the opposition leads to a goal,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said.
Club Brugge Stun Inter Milan in Seven-Goal Thriller
Club Brugge produced one of the night’s biggest surprises by defeating Inter Milan 4-3 away from home. Nicolo Tresoldi led the Belgian side’s attack with a hat-trick in a high-scoring encounter.
Elsewhere, Villarreal defeated Napoli 3-1, while Azerbaijani side Sabah recorded its first league-phase victory with a 2-0 win over Slavia Prague. Sporting Lisbon also beat Lens 2-0, and RB Leipzig secured a 1-0 victory against PSV Eindhoven.
