Sept. 23 (UPI) — MTV will honor late country music star Dolly Parton at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
Kacey Musgraves will perform a tribute to Parton, who died at age 80 in August, during the VMAs ceremony Sunday.
Snoop Dogg will host this year’s VMAs, which will air at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV. The show will also stream live on Paramount+ for premium members and become available the next day for regular subscribers.
Musgraves, a friend and fan of Parton’s who is nominated at the VMAS in the Best Country category for “Dry Spell,” performed a tribute to the late star at her Aug. 28 concert in Boston.
The 2026 VMAs will also feature a tribute to George Michael, performed by Raye, Sombr and Teddy Swims, and honor rock band Nirvana, fronted by the late Kurt Cobain, with this year’s Video Vanguard Award.
