Aug. 26 (UPI) — Rupert Grint will reprise his role of wizard Ron Weasley in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child this winter.

“17 weeks only, performances begin February 2, 2027. Sign up for first access to tickets at HarryPotterBroadway.com,” the show’s Facebook page said Wednesday.

Grint, 38, starred in all eight Harry Potter blockbuster films, which were released between 2001 and 2011. He also starred in the Apple TV series, Servant, which aired 2019-23.

“Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again in this stage of life,” Grint said in a press release.

“There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron’s shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new. And the joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting,” he added.

“The first time I saw Cursed Child onstage, I was blown away and I can’t wait to set foot back on Platform 9 ¾ and pick up where I left off. I am overjoyed to join this exceptional cast and crew at the Lyric Theatre this winter.”

Grint’s former co-star Tom Felton will wrap up his run in the play in January. He is reprising his role of Draco Malfoy from the movies.

Based on characters from J.K. Rowling’s best-selling fantasy novels, the show is set primarily at the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry where Ron and Hermione’s daughter goes to school with Harry and Draco’s sons.

An Audible version of the books was released earlier this year, while an HBO series adaptation is slated to premiere in December.
