Aug. 24 (UPI) — Netflix is teasing The Gentlemen Season 2.
The streaming service shared a trailer for the season Monday featuring Theo James (Divergent, The White Lotus Season 2).
The Gentlemen is an action comedy-drama series created by Guy Ritchie that takes place in the same world as Ritchie’s 2019 film of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey.
In the TV spinoff, James stars as Eddie Horniman, a British duke who learns there is a secret cannabis farm beneath his newly-inherited estate. The farm is co-owned by crime lord Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone).
The Season 2 preview shows Eddie and Bobby face off as American billionaire Stanley (Giancarlo Esposito) urges Eddie to “forge his own path,” testing his alliance with Bobby’s daughter Susie (Kaya Scodelario).
Meanwhile, Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) joins the cast as Lord Hawthorne, a British lord who gets wrapped up in Eddie’s efforts to decriminalize marijuana.
Other cast members include Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley.
The Gentlemen Season 2 premieres Sept. 3 on Netflix. The series has been renewed for Season 3 ahead of the premiere.
