March 22 (UPI) — NHL reporter and podcaster Jessi Pierce died with her three children and their dog in a Minnesota house fire this weekend.
“The entire National Hockey League family sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessi Pierce and her three young children,” the NHL said in a statement Sunday.
“Jessica loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for a decade. We will miss her terribly.”
FOX 9 reported that the White Bear Lake Fire Department responded to single-family home that was fully engulfed in flames at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
The family was declared dead at the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The New York Post noted that Pierce was an Iowa State University alum and the co-host of the “Bardown Beauties” podcast. She also wrote articles for USA Hockey, the Minnesota Hockey Journal and Massachusetts Hockey.
Pierce posted on X adorable photos of her children visiting an ice cream stand on its 2026 opening day just hours before the blaze.
