July 23 (UPI) — Netflix is giving a glimpse of the new film Don’t Say Good Luck.

The streaming service shared a trailer for the movie Thursday featuring Sunny Sandler, an actress and the younger daughter of actor Adam Sandler and his wife, actress Jackie Sandler.

Don’t Say Good Luck is a teen comedy-drama starring Sunny Sandler, 17, as Sophie, a teenager navigating family drama as she lands the lead role in her high school musical.

Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, Stephanie Beatriz, Bebe Neuwirth and Steve Buscemi also star in the film, produced by Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison Productions.

Don’t Say Good Luck is directed by Julia Hart.

“Sunny Sandler was the first and only person we thought of to play Sophie,” Hart told Netflix’s Tudum.

“I knew she was going to be great, but she absolutely exceeded my expectations as an actor, and also as a singer, a hard worker, and an amazing leader on set,” she added. “In a way that I haven’t really experienced with many actors, Sunny is able to bring any emotion, anytime. It’s remarkable. Her ability to tell different stories in the same scene was truly amazing.”

Don’t Say Good Luck premieres Aug. 14 on Netflix.

Sunny Sandler’s previous acting credits include roles in her dad’s movies Grown Ups, Murder Mystery and Happy Gilmore 2. She stars with both of her parents and her sister Sadie Sandler in the 2023 film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, directed by Sammi Cohen.
