ISL 2026: East Bengal vs Mohammedan Postponed
The ISL match between East Bengal and Mohammedan SC will now be played on Monday, March 23. Although the Salt Lake Stadium, aka Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, will remain the venue, the match has been deferred by a couple of days.
MyKhel understands the match against Mohammedan has been deferred due to the Eid-ul-Fitr, which is likely to be celebrated on Saturday. Due to the festival, the match has been rescheduled for Monday, but even that remains a doubt as of now.
“Mohammedan players and staff will be on leave for Eid. A match on Monday is expected, and the Saturday encounter thus has been postponed,” an official told MyKhel.
The Red and Gold Brigade have accepted the postponement, as their next assignment after the Mohammedan match in on April 11 against Chennaiyin FC. The Kolkata giants are currently placed 5th in the points table with 8 points in five matches.
Mohammedan, on the other hand, are going through a major crisis. Amid the tumultuous conditions off the field, they are currently at the bottom of the ISL points table, with no points to show for after four matches. They have already conceded 10 goals this season, the worst record in the league so far.
