March 15 (UPI) — Weapons star Amy Madigan won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and KPop Demon Hunters was voted Best Animated Feature on Sunday evening.
Sean Penn won the Best Supporting Actor prize for One Battle After Another, but was not in attendance to collect it. The film also earned the first Oscar for Casting.
Frankenstein picked up the prizes for Best Costumes and Best Hair & Makeup.
Conan O’Brien is hosting the gala, which is airing live from Hollywood.
The horror film Sinners led the field with 16 nominations, scoring nods for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
One Battle After Another is up for 13 prizes, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Other movies in the running for Best Picture include Bugonia, F1, Hamnet, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value and Train Dreams.
