June 25 (UPI) — MMA legend Cris Cyborg will battle Ketlen Vieira and defend her PFA featherweight title in a retirement bout Aug 22 in Tampa, Fla., she announced.
The bout will be held at Benchmark International Arena.
“Looking for career win number 30,” Cyborg wrote Wednesday on Instagram. “No other female in MMA has 30 career victories.”
Cyborg, 40, beat previously undefeated foe Sara Collins for the PFL crown on Dec. 13 in Decines-Charpieu, France. She owns a career 29-2-0, with a no contest, in her MMA career. Cyborg went 21-2-0 in UFC and 2-0-0 in PFL.
Vieira, 34, is 16-5-0 over her career, with all of those bouts in UFC. She will make her PFL debut against Cyborg. She announced her signing Tuesday on Instagram.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I can only thank God for pouring countless blessings into it,” Vieira wrote on the social media platform. “Every day, I experience the truth of the verse that says: ‘All things work together for the good of those who love God.'”
Vieira last fought for a unanimous decision victory over Jacqueline Cavalcanti on May 16 in Las Vegas.
