Paulo Dybala’s future at Roma is uncertain as the contract with the club approaches its end. The 32-year-old sees the current deal expire at the end of this month, and talks over an extension have not produced a signed agreement, increasing speculation about a possible summer departure.
We will see what happens, Dybala told ESPN. These days every team is an option, even Instituto [his first club], so that people dont get angry. I am still a Roma player until the end of the month, so out of respect for the club I will not talk about my future. However, I have not yet decided. I dont know if something will happen, so I cannot say anything that might not happen. Everything is possible, in football you never know.
Dybala has been linked with a move away from Roma, with Boca Juniors in Argentina reported as a possible destination. Despite this interest, the former Juventus forward has not closed any doors and continues to keep every path open while the contract situation remains unresolved at the Stadio Olimpico.
Dybala arrived at Roma as a free signing from Juventus before the 2022/23 campaign. In that first season, Dybala helped Roma reach the Europa League final and quickly became a key attacker. Since joining, Dybala has produced 45 goals and 28 assists across 140 matches in all competitions.
Across the whole Serie A career, Dybala has built strong attacking numbers with 204 direct goal contributions. That total combines 131 goals and 73 assists over 370 league appearances. The figures underline Dybala’s long-term influence in Italian football and help explain why interest remains high despite the contract uncertainty.

During the 2025-26 Serie A season, Dybala dealt with injury problems but finished strongly. Dybala delivered an assist in each of the final three league fixtures, collecting four assists in that run. That late surge helped Roma secure a Champions League place and highlighted Dybala’s value when fully available.
Despite growing rumours, Dybala stresses respect for Roma and avoids public decisions before the contract expires at the end of the month. Boca Juniors and even Instituto are mentioned as possibilities, yet Dybala’s comments show that every outcome remains open while the forward waits to see how the next weeks develop.
