June 10 (UPI) — Authorities in Connecticut responded to two separate calls about two separate pigs spotted wandering loose in Woodbridge in the same day.
Woodbridge Regional Animal Control said a call came in about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday reporting a pig on the loose in an Old Quarry Road resident’s yard.
A second call came in reporting a pig on the loose on Acorn Hill Road that had been seen wandering the area for at least two days.
“These two roaming complaints are different pigs,” the department said on social media.
Officers worked together with animal control personnel from Naugatuck and Prospect, as well as a local veterinarian, to secure one of the pigs, but they were unable to locate the second swine.
The captured pig was taken to the Woodbridge Regional Animal Control Department. Residents in the Acorn Hill Road and Old Quarry Road area are being asked to keep an eye out for the second pig and report any sightings.
Police said they are now trying to identify the owner — or owners — of the loose pigs.
