Hegseth quotes scripture to end brief war update
Ending his address, Pete Hegseth quotes Psalm 144:1. It includes the lines:
“Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.”
Hegseth said in January that he prayed the passage during the mission to oust Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro.

Hegseth: ‘This is not 2002. This is not endless nation building’
Hegseth is stressing that Trump ran against “nebulous”, endless wars.
He says the US is clearly winning with an “unbreakable will” to achieve its objectives “on our timeline”, without yet putting a figure on it.

‘I don’t believe he can live in peace’: Trump’s airs fury at appointment of new supreme leader
Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran’s new supreme leader as the US renewed strikes on Tehran.
“I don’t believe he can live in peace,” the US president told Fox News, after Mojtaba Khamenei succeeded his late father as the head of the Islamic Republic.
Trump told the outlet he was “not happy” with the choice of leader, but claimed the US military was seeing results “way beyond expectations” on the ground.
Trump had insisted he should have a say in the appointment of Iran’s leader, after the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a strike on the first day of the war.
