The FIFA World Cup 2026 is quickly approaching, and supporters now have an official song to look forward to. Dai Dai, featuring Shakira and Burna Boy, was published by Sony Music Latin and is currently available on major streaming platforms.
The song celebrates Shakira’s return to the FIFA World Cup stage following her tremendously successful 2010 anthem Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which became one of the most memorable football songs ever.
This time, Dai Dai mixes football, music, and a global purpose in one exciting celebration. The song supports the FIFA Global Citizen school Fund, which seeks to raise USD 100 million by the end of the tournament to increase access to school and football opportunities for neglected youth.
A Song With A Bigger Purpose
According to FIFA’s official announcement, “Dai Dai brings together the global sounds and energy of Shakira and Burna Boy in a vibrant celebration of football, culture and unity.”
The statement also revealed that song revenues will benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Shakira’s earnings from the tune will be donated to the cause, and Sony Music will match the first USD 250,000 raised.
In FIFA’s official release, Burna Boy said, “The World Cup is one of the few things the entire world experiences together. Football and music speak the same language. They bring people together no matter where you’re from and being part of this moment through music means a lot to me.”
Shakira’s Tour Also Supporting The Fund
Shakira is giving earnings from Dai Dai as well as proceeds from her upcoming Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour. According to the official announcement, the artist will donate $1 from each ticket sold to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The Colombian artist will also perform an 11-night stadium residency in Madrid later this year. According to reports, over half a million tickets for the shows have already been sold.
FIFA has also confirmed that Shakira will co-headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show on July 19, which will be the first halftime show in FIFA World Cup history.
