April 13 (UPI) — Netflix is teasing a new adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books.
A trailer for Little House on the Prairie, released Monday, shows the family trading their Wisconsin home for life on the prairie.
“And even though they were all alone, and very small against the sky and the stars, they were happy because they were a family and they were together,” says Laura Ingalls (Alice Halsey) in the preview.
Skywalker Hughes plays Mary, while Luke Bracey and Crosby Fitzgerald portray Ma and Pa, respectively.
“This show is a love story about a family. They’re a family you want to be with, you want to know, you want to spend time with. That’s really at the core of what Little House on the Prairie is about: a family that is there for each other, that tells stories to each other, tells stories about themselves,” said Rebecca Sonnenshine, the showrunner, in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum.
The new series arrives on the streamer July 9.
