March 16 (UPI) — Universal Pictures and Illumination revealed the voice cast for Minions & Monsters on Monday. The film opens in theaters July 1.
New to the Minions series are Oscar-winners Christoph Waltz and Jeff Bridges, Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, and Zoey Deutch. Returning to the series are Allison Janney and Trey Parker.
Janney voiced Madge Nelson in the 2015 Minions spin-off. Parker voiced Balthazar Bratt in 2017’s Despicable Me 3.
The yellow Minions were introduced in 2010’s Despicable Me. They are the workers who help Gru (Steve Carell) with his evil plans.
There have been four Despicable Me films. Minions & Monsters is the third spinoff. Pierre Coffin voices the Minions and directs Minions & Monsters, following the first three Despicable Mes and the first Minions.
The latest film sees the Minions come to Hollywood, caused a monster catastrophe and then save the world from those monsters.
