March 12 (UPI) — Hulu released the official trailer for Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair, starring Frankie Muniz as the titular character who has been avoiding his family for years.
Muniz, who played the role of Malcolm in the original 2000-2006 run of Malcolm in the Middle on FOX, explains in the trailer that his life has been going great ever since he cut off communication with the rest of his dysfunctional family.
He is forced into a reunion for his parents’ 40th anniversary thanks in part to the meddling of his teenage daughter, Leah (Keeley Karsten), and the urging of his girlfriend, Tristan (Kiana Madeira).
The four-episode revival also features the return of stars Bryan Cranston (Hal), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), Christopher Kennedy Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese) and Emy Coligado (Piama). Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes over the role of Dewey from retired actor Erik Per Sullivan. Vaughan Murrae also joins the cast as Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling.
Linwood Boomer, who created the original series, returns as writer and executive producer. Cranston, Tracy Katsky Boomer, Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann also executive produce.
All four episodes of Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will stream April 10 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. All 151 episodes of Malcolm in the Middle are currently available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
