April 3 (UPI) — A 39-year-old man was arrested in Uganda after allegedly attacking and killing four toddlers at a daycare center in Kampala, national police said.
The attack took place Thursday at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program in Ggaba parish, the Uganda Police Force said in a statement on X. Officers arrested Okello Christopher Onyum after the killing spree.
Police said he “brutally stabbed and killed” three boys and one girl, the BBC reported. They were all between the ages of 2 and 3, and each attended the daycare center.
A representative for law enforcement said the children died instantly, and Onyum used multiple knives in his attack.
“The Uganda Police Force extends its deepest condolences to the affected families and assures the public that all efforts are underway to ensure a thorough investigation and justice for the victims,” the police statement said.
